Detailed information on upcoming changes on Oct. 1 - Bedrock 2.0 OPC
A message from Troy Spring, VP Revenue Service Center (RSC)
As a follow-up to our message from late August, we are sharing more information about the upcoming changes related to the Bedrock 2.0 Orderables/Performables/Chargeables (“OPC”) initiative. Our goal is to ensure you are informed and prepared for the upcoming change to occur on Oct. 1, 2024.
Overview of the Change:
Detailed Information:
Impact on Stakeholders
Instead of manually selecting charges via charge navigator, charges (Current Procedural Terminology “CPT” / Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System “HCPCS”) will now be automatically generated after the procedure performed/task completion, minimizing the number of clicks required to file the charges. The charge navigator will now display “DCIO (Do not charge if Ordered)” for the identified procedures to alert users to avoid the manual selection when ordered.
In addition, a charge reconciliation work queue will be developed to monitor the future state workflow for charges that are driven by OPC to provide validation that duplicate charges are not occurring, or if they occur can be remediated. This work queue will be managed by the Revenue Integrity Team.
