Hospice, West Pines to benefit from major gifts

The Lutheran Foundation deeply appreciates gifts it receives to help improve care, drive technology and innovation, and fund advanced training for Lutheran’s clinicians. Often, former patients will include the foundation in their estate planning, leaving a legacy of gratitude that will benefit others. Below are some of the major gifts bestowed in the last month by family trusts and community organizations.

  • The Lutheran Foundation received a $20,000 planned gift from The McClellan Family Trust. The McClellans lived in Arvada for many years and considered Lutheran their hospital. This gift is for hospice care.

  • The estate of Barbara Waibel has given Lutheran Hospice $102,000. These funds are in memory of Kurt Waibel Jr.

  • West Pines Behavioral Health has received $150,000 from The Daniels Fund for residential or intensive outpatient substance-use disorder treatment.

  • Lutheran has received $10,000 from Colorado Gives Foundation, supporting Thriving Jeffco. These funds will be used to serve a food-delivery partnership between the hospital and Food Bank of the Rockies.
