TJC shoutout to Medical Staff Services!
Five surveyors from The Joint Commission visited Saint Joseph Hospital for its triennial survey earlier this month. The overall results of the survey were outstanding, with the TJC team documenting only half the number of findings received during the last survey in 2021 and zero conditional or widespread findings.
During the four-day survey, surveyors evaluated the following units, departments, processes and functions.
Emergency Department
ICU
CV Surgery
Women’s Services, including OB Triage, Labor & Delivery and NICU
Life Safety, Environment of Care and Emergency Management
Pharmacy
Telemetry
PPU
Endoscopy
Nuclear Medicine
Radiation Oncology
Language Services
Health Equity and Access Practices
Downtown Surgery Specialist Clinic
Northglenn Freestanding Emergency Department
They also reviewed the medical staff credentialing process and stated our Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation processes were the best practice they have ever seen. Congratulations to our Medical Staff Office team!
The surveyors had many great things to say about Saint Joseph caregivers and medical staff. They were impressed by the dedication to patient care, culture of safety and how knowledgeable all clinicians and staff are. One surveyor interviewed a patient who told the surveyor, “This is the best hospital I have even been to.”
Physicians with questions or those would like more information about the survey can reach out to John Tynes, MD, Saint Joseph chief medical officer.
Thank you to all our medical staff for your ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and regulatory readiness.
