Patel selected as SMD of Peaks Acute Medicine

Ritika Patel, MD, has been selected as Senior Medical Director of the Acute Medicine service line in the Peaks Region.

Dr. Patel brings over a decade of hospitalist experience at Lutheran Hospital. She has served as a physician liaison across various disciplines, actively contributing to the development and support of local processes aimed at enhancing patient care delivery

 Dr. Patel is passionate about acute care medicine, with a focus on developing and implementing clinical workflows that enhance quality care and provide evidence-based medicine. Her goal is to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and hospital flow, while also preserving and enhancing caregiver experience and longevity in the medical field.

Dr. Patel holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Viterbo University in Lacrosse, WI. She earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School in Chicago, IL, and completed her residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.

As Senior Medical Director Dr. Patel will provide leadership, oversight, and support for the development of a culture of high reliability and the measurement of care, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and executing strategies to drive the performance and improvement of the service line.

Dr. Patel will operate in a dyad leadership structure with key organizational relationships across Intermountain Health collaboratively with all assigned region disciplines including Medical Group, peer service lines and markets, as well as Enterprise disciplines, including Clinical Programs, Clinical Shared Services, Clinical Excellence, Research, Medical Education, and the clinically integrated network.
