Jackman selected as SMD of Peaks Behavioral Health service line
Ryan Jackman, MD, has been selected for the role of Senior Medical Director of the Peaks Behavioral Health service line.
Dr. Jackman has been working in an integrated behavioral health setting since 2013 in both Primary Care and Addiction Medicine. Since 2019 he has been serving as the medical director of Integrated Addiction Medicine program in Grand Junction.
Since working for Intermountain Health, Dr. Jackman has worked with numerous internal committees to improve quality of care in primary care and hospital settings, including appropriate opioid prescribing, addressing universal screening for substance use disorders in PEAKS labor and delivery settings, and integration of behavioral health and medications for opioid use disorder in emergency rooms and primary care settings.
Dr. Jackman completed his BA at Utah State University before attending The Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed family medicine residency at St. Mary's Family Medicine in Grand Junction followed by an Addiction Medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado. He has completed an additional certificate program through the University of California Irvine focused on improving psychiatric care in primary care settings, both for adults, adolescents, and children.
As Senior Medical Director Dr. Jackman will provide leadership, oversight, and support for the development of a culture of high reliability and the measurement of care, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and executing on strategies to drive the performance and measured improvement of the service line.
Dr. Jackman will operate in a dyad leadership structure with key organizational relationships across Intermountain Health collaboratively with all assigned region disciplines including Medical Group, peer service lines and markets, as well as Enterprise disciplines, including Clinical Programs, Clinical Shared Services, Clinical Excellence, Research, Medical Education, and the clinically integrated network.
