Discontinued lab tests at Platte Valley

Starting today, Friday, Aug. 30, Platte Valley will discontinue several in-house chemistry assays. They are: carbamazepine, digoxin, GGT, gentamicin and phenytoin.

These assays have been discontinued due to low utilization. Patient samples will be forwarded to the central laboratory at Saint Joseph Hospital. For STAT testing needs, Platte Valley will utilize a STAT courier. Results can be expected within 2.5 hours (or less) from the time the sample is received in our laboratory.

For routine testing needs, results can be expected within four to eight hours (or less) from the time the sample is received in our laboratory. Please contact the Chemistry department lead, Rylee Wolfe, with any questions or concerns at 303-498-1422.
