Six Kaiser services to transition out of Good Samaritan by end of March

After months of planning, physician leaders, teams and processes are in place to manage Kaiser Permanente's expected transition of six services out of Good Samaritan this month.
Please review the below information to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for you and your patients.
Infectious Disease
New patients: Starting Friday, March 28, at 4 p.m., care will be provided by Western Infectious Disease Consultants.
Existing patients: Patients will be followed by KP until Monday, March 31, and will be signed out to WIDC at 4 p.m.
General Surgery
New patients: Starting Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m., care will be provided by the Intermountain Health surgery team.
Existing patients: Patients admitted by the KP surgery team will continue to be cared for by KP until dispositioned.
Cardiology / EP / IC
New patients: Starting Monday, March 31, at 6 a.m., new admits, consults and STEMI call will be managed by IMH cardiology teams.
Existing patients: Patients admitted or consulted on by the KP team will be handed off to IMH on Monday, March 31, at 6 a.m.
Critical Care / Pulmonary
New patients: Starting Monday, March 31, at 7 a.m., patients will be admitted to the National Jewish Health ICU team.
Existing patients: Patients admitted by KP critical care or hospital medicine will be transferred to the NJH intensivist.
Hospital Medicine
New patients: Starting Monday, March 31, at 7 a.m., care will be provided by Midtown Inpatient Medicine.
Existing patients: Patients admitted by KP Hospital Medicine will continue to be cared for by them until dispositioned.
Psychiatry
New patients: Starting Monday, March 31, at 11:59 p.m., KP Psychiatry will not see or consult on non-KP patients.
Existing patients: KP patients will continue to be followed by KP Psychiatry until Monday, June 30.

The following KP consulting services will remain at Good Samaritan through this initial shift. Their upcoming transition dates will be announced as plans are finalized.
Gastroenterology
Gynecology
Head and Neck (ENT) (will continue current call coverage of KP and non-KP patients)
Interventional Radiology (will continue to serve both KP and non-KP patients)
Neurology
Obstetrics
Oncology
Palliative Care/Supportive Care
Pediatric Hospital Medicine
Psychiatry
Radiation Oncology (will continue to serve both KP and non-KP patients)
