Respiratory Panel denial by insurance

The major insurance payers have been denying the Respiratory Panel, and our patients have been incurring unanticipated expenses associated with the order. Many providers have requested the test be credited to defray the patient paying for the denial, and this becomes a cost to the organization. The cost to the patient is between $750-$800. The panel being denied is EAP 516601 Respiratory Panel by Molecular Assay (22 target assay).

An alternative order is available and is covered by insurance: EAP 520272 SARS-CoV-2, Flu A/B/RSV by Molecular Assay (4 target assay). Please update your preference lists to include the smaller panels that are covered by the payers.
