Lutheran launches enhanced Delta Rounds

Delta Rounds, the standard at Lutheran for several years in which physicians and nurses make rounds together, recently was enhanced to further improve teamwork and patient outcomes.

Modeled after the Cleveland Clinic Plan of Care Visits, enhanced Delta Rounds call for the bedside nurse, the primary medical team of the physician or advanced practice provider and patient to be involved with and actively engaged for medical rounds. The process steps include building rapport with the patient, eliciting and addressing the patients’ questions and concerns, inviting the nurse to share concerns and ensuring everyone is on the same page and aware of the plan for the patient.

A video demonstrating the new process, starring our own Jason Wang, MD, Internal Medicine, can be viewed by clicking the image below.

The first frame of the Enhanced Delta Rounds video, showing someone who is not Dr. Jason Wang. Trust us; Dr. Wang plays the lead.

ED note: The video begins with several slides explaining the process. The demonstration and audio begin at 1:49.
