Helipad construction starts Thursday, Jan. 9

A construction project involving Lutheran’s helipad will force incoming traffic to land in Physician Parking Lot D for the first three days of the project: Thursday, Jan. 9, to Saturday, Jan. 11. During this time, physicians who use Lot D can park in the main garage or Lots A, B or C.

No helicopter pad operations: First three days

• Thursday, Jan. 9 to Saturday, Jan. 11

• During this period, no helicopter pad operations will take place due to the installation of additional safety netting.

• Alternate landing site: Physician Parking Lot D will serve as the alternate landing site. All air EMS agencies have been informed of this temporary change.

Normal operations during construction: After the first three days

• Dates: Sunday, Jan. 12 to Wednesday, Jan. 15. The timeline is tentative and could extend to Tuesday, Jan. 21. 

• The helicopter pad will resume normal operations during the final phase of construction.

• Thirty-minute ETA required: The construction crew will need a 30-minute ETA to clean up and confirm the helipad is safe for landing. This requirement has been shared with all air EMS agencies to ensure smooth operations.
