Good Samaritan MSS moves, grows to be more responsive to physicians’ needs

Ready for the pop in! The Good Samaritan Medical Staff Services Office has moved and is now located in the Administrative Office Suite on the first floor.

The department also has expanded by one to include three onsite MSS specialists who support physicians with any concern and ensure a high-functioning medical staff. We asked them to reflect on their roles and answer the Most Important Question of the season: Will the Broncos make the playoffs?

Jazmyne Garcia, Medical Staff Privileging Coordinator: Garcia joined the Good Samaritan MSO in August and in her role ensures the privileging process is smooth for physicians. She’s shown here with her family in Estes Park.

“I appreciate how efficient and accurate privileging is a vital part of a larger mechanism that supports the safest-possible care for our patients. I enjoy knowing that I’m an important part of a bigger picture.”

MIQ: “Haha! Not this year, but things are starting to look better for us!”

Andrea Robledo, CPCS, Lead Medical Staff Privileging Coordinator:

Robledo joined us in May from Lutheran Hospital and sees her purpose as being available to the medical staff for any need that arises. Her task is to ensure accurate credentialing of all practitioners.

“When there are questions about privileges, expiration dates on certifications, where to find the badging office or anything else, it is important to me that physicians know they have a reliable point of contact in our office. It cannot be understated that the MSO is the gatekeeper for patient safety. We pay strict attention to the details of every application and ensure all the pieces provided complete the credentialing puzzle. That’s how we know we have the best practitioners within our walls.”

MIQ: “I hope the Broncos make the playoffs! (Psst, I’m secretly a Bengals fan…)”

Angel Archer, RN, BSN, Medical Staff Quality Program Manager:

Archer joined Good Samaritan in February and supports the organized medical staff. She’s shown here with her grandson, Jaxon, at a Broncos game.

“I have a unique opportunity to support patient safety and the Medical Staff by assessing the performance of individuals granted clinical privileges. There’s great satisfaction in working toward process improvement and working with the practitioners to make a practice change or a system change that secures patient safety. I’m proud to support a culture of learning with accountability and growth.”

 MIQ: “Heck yeah GOOOO Broncos!”

Georgeann Bell, Medical Staff Services Director Front Range:

A 20-plus-year veteran with the MSO at Lutheran Hospital, Bell, shown here at our annual event last month, stepped into the Front Range role – and her role at Good Samaritan – in April 2023.

She feels the office should be the go-to place for all medical staff members for any need, and has built a team that’s committed, dedicated, detail oriented, flexible and wholly focused on customer service.

“The work we do is the very important first step in ensuring patient safety. Andrea, Angel and Jazmyne understand the importance of the work and faithfully execute it with the highest standards. Our physicians are dedicated and hardworking, and anything we can do to assist them is meaningful for us.”

MIQ: Absolutely!!

Physicians can reach the office anytime via the pop in or via email: Georgeann Bell, Andrea Robledo, Angel Archer and Jazmyne Garcia.
