Four Lutheran physicians receive kudos!

Lutheran Medical Center often receives notes of gratitude from patients and family members, as well as words of recognition from colleagues and associates, about physicians who have given extraordinary care and service.

Dr. Shabnam Khoie has been absolutely amazing this week, and three of my patients have expressed gratitude toward her and her hard work in finding out what is going on with them.

Dr. Franco Rea is a wonderful doctor who is so kind to us nurses on PCU. He teaches us and always answers our learning needs. Patients love him and are always very grateful for his care.

I wanted to pass along positive feedback on Dr. John Ferguson. We had a maternal resuscitation drill today in L&D and Dr. Ferguson responded as part of the code team. Here are the many things I noticed about his involvement:

  • Prompt response and willing to fully participate in drill (as if it were real).

  • Collaborative conversation with Anesthesia to delineate roles.

  • Incredibly calm, but assertive.

  • Modeled for our team how to be a team leader.

  • Clear communication – set expectations for our team and gave articulate instructions.

We were so appreciative of his participation. Today's experience gave us reassurance that if our patient requires resuscitative efforts, we have support within the hospital (two-minute response time!) and we are not alone. The experience was incredibly positive and we are grateful.

Thank you to these physicians and all members of our medical staff who provide the highest-quality care every day.
