Six clinicians at St. Mary’s receive kudos
St. Mary’s frequently receives notes of gratitude from patients and their loved ones, as well as notes from our own caregivers, about physicians and APPs who were exceptionally supportive and dedicated in their pursuit of clinical excellence. We’re honored to recognize them here.
Colleague to Colleague:
A note of hearty THANKS to Tej Singh, MD, and your team for your work. I just talked to [redacted] about her experience in your clinic. I have a big family and we are "normal" people who do not seek/nor generally accept "special" treatment, but she felt very comfortable and satisfied with her procedure. Springsteen was a bonus and I would echo her words: “We are so lucky to have him!” PLEASE pass this on to your team, as I am well aware that none of us go it alone. - Matthew Cyphers, MD, incoming COS at St. Mary’s
I want to thank Drs. Rebecca Pilkerton and Eric Frankel for assisting us with a recent early morning pediatric lumbar puncture. It was not your responsibility to help us with this, but Rebecca, as you stated, we do what we can to work together to take care of people. Rebecca, I know you stayed past shift end and Eric, you were our hero of the morning. This was not the ideal solution and I am trying to address that, but your assistance merits a big thank you! - Amy Davis, MD, COS at St. Mary’s
A provider in Delta called the Command Center back after an interaction with Duncan McGregor, MD, to specifically say what a great impression he had and that he was very impressed and grateful for Dr. McGregor.
On his day off last Friday, Trey Moore, MD, chose to come in to take care of a patient needing a pacemaker rather emergently. Changing your plans to make this accommodation speaks volumes of your care, commitment, and kindness toward your patients. Thank you for who you are and what you do. So inspiring. - Benjamin S. Smalley, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, St. Mary’s
Grateful patient:
I arrived via ER with a severe spinal cord injury from skiing at Crested Butte. Twenty-four hours later I had a five-hour surgery by Basheal Agrawal, MD. In every sense, my care was outstanding. From surgeon to nursing staff, I was always treated with kindness, compassion, and excellence.
My husband was admitted to the ER and ended up having a craniotomy due to a subdural hematoma. Basheal Agrawal, MD, performed the surgery. From the moment we entered the ER until my husband was released two days later, we were treated by EVERY employee with kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, attentiveness, and genuine caring. Everything went like clockwork — ALL American businesses should be run like St. Mary’s. VERY IMPRESSIVE! The personnel were so professional yet human and humane and communicated with us at every step throughout the visit—telling us why there were delays at various stages, what to expect, what was ahead. Everyone had a great sense of humor which we appreciated, and everyone seemed to LOVE their jobs. We had interactions with so many people that we can’t remember their names but wish we could so we could thank each one personally, as EVERY one of them played a vital and important role in my husband’s surgery and his subsequent healing. One incident that sticks out in our minds is when he was in the ICU after his surgery. At one point, there must’ve been a glitch with the monitor that tracks a person’s heartbeat as it suddenly flatlined while our son and I were sitting there talking with him. His heart had not stopped. About five employees came running into the room within three seconds. WOW!
