Five St. Mary’s Physicians Receive Compliments

Grateful patients regularly recognize St. Mary’s physicians and APPs for the care they receive. They were moved by your compassion and thoughtful words. They were impressed by your clinical skills and your command over their experience. They offer their deepest appreciation, and so do we.

Gratitude After a Loved One’s TAVR Surgery

(Excerpt from email)
“I know that if his heart attack had happened 20 years ago, we would have already likely already said our goodbyes, so the TAVR and stents represent great medical progress. Because Grant Henderson, MD, and Carl Rouch, MD, had those skills, we have had more time together.  I will be forever grateful to Intermountain Health and the doctors who gave us more time. I am so impressed with Dr. Henderson’s care, knowledge, research, personal caring and bedside manner.”

Patient Shares Gratitude in Letters to St. Mary’s and Local Paper

(Published in the Jan. 9 issue of the Daily Sentinel)
“I had a serious health issue last Sunday morning. I want to take the time to thank and applaud Grand Junction Fire Department Station 6 and St Mary’s staff.

As much as I tried, I could not breathe on a recent Sunday morning at 2:15 a.m. We called 911 and an ambulance and fire engine were dispatched. As we were waiting, the operator kept us on the phone and reassured us they were on their way. In just a few minutes the ambulance and paramedics/EMTs from Station 6 arrived. In another few minutes I was on the way to St. Mary’s Hospital. These gentlemen were truly professional and reassuring. Thank you!

Upon arrival at the hospital, the staff at St. Mary’s took over. The shortness/lack of breath was caused by a heart issue. At home, I truly thought I might die. The staff took a few tests and provided medication to help relieve my heart issue. Kishan Patel MD, Gina Sarice Carr MD, Rebecca Pilkerton, MD, numerous LPNs. numerous CNAs and their assistants were awesome.

Regretfully I did not get all the names of the LPNs, CSAs and their assistants, but all the above were super professional and extremely caring about my well-being. Thank you! Approximately 30 hours after arrival, I was released to go home. It is hard to believe that going from feeling like I was going to die to feeling very good happened in 30 hours thanks to the paramedics from Station 6 and all the professionals at St. Mary’s Hospital.”

“I observed staff interacting with other patients, and everyone showed the same kindness and dedication. It reminded me of my own favorite times as a physician—working on a team where everyone recognized and valued each other’s contributions.”
