A message from Lee Boyles, President, Montana | Wyoming Market & St. Vincent Regional Hospitals and Toni Green-Cheatwood, DO, ACMO - Acute Care, Peaks Region:
We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Christopher Strear, MD, as our Chief Medical Officer of St. Vincent Regional Hospital, effective March 31.
Dr. Strear is a strategic, intuitive, and process-driven leader with a proven track record of transforming patient flow and improving caregiver working conditions.
Christopher Strear, MD
His extensive patient care experience and deep business acumen enable him to develop solutions and strategies from patient, physician, and organizational perspectives. Dr. Strear has been a Board-Certified Emergency Physician with the American Board of Emergency Physicians since 2003.
“I don’t think there is any better way to advocate for providers than to partner with them in identifying and addressing their pain points in a way that improves patient care, improves job satisfaction, and doesn’t compromise the bottom line,” shared Dr. Strear. “Looking for that win-win to make everyone's lives better is what excites me most in this new role.”
Dr. Strear joins us from Oregon Health & Sciences University, where he served as the Chief Medical Officer at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR. During his tenure, he successfully increased professional staff by 25% and improved provider engagement.
Prior to that, Dr. Strear held leadership roles at Legacy Health Systems/Northwest Acute Care Specialists, where he transformed patient flow and delivered substantial cost savings.
Dr. Strear holds a Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, an MBA from Northern Kentucky University, and a BA in Chemistry and English from Williams College. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Strear says his happy place is standing in a river with his fly rod in hand. He and his wife, Kathy, enjoy picking out a new recipe and cooking dinner together. Fun fact: he has been a comic book collector since he was in the fifth grade.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Strear to our team! We are excited to see the positive impact he will bring to our organization.
