A note of gratitude for the Saint Joseph medical staff

By Jamie Smith, Saint Joseph President

This year, Saint Joseph Hospital celebrated our 150th anniversary, and we were blessed to have many of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth travel to Denver to join us in the celebration of this special milestone. I am so grateful for the wisdom and support we have from our foundresses.

During one of our events, Sister Melissa Camardo, who served as Saint Joe’s Mission leader for 15 years, made some powerful remarks that provided comfort and inspiration.

Sister Melissa talked about the strong foundation the Sisters established for us, which is built on faith and is one we can lean on when times are difficult. She reminded us that no matter what changes or challenges we face, what will never change is that we are united in our healing ministry to be here for people in need.

Each of you plays a crucial role in carrying out our healing ministry. As we say here a lot, Saint Joe’s is family. We are so fortunate to have each other, and the holidays are a time to recognize that.

I hope you are able to take time to relax and spend time with your loved ones, friends and family during the holiday season. I recognize that many of you must work at some point during the holidays, and I appreciate your dedication to our patients and our mission.

I am very thankful that you are part of the Saint Joe’s family.

With gratitude and blessings this holiday season,

Jamie
